5 billion USD is about to invest in infrastructure, Binh Chanh is facing a great opportunity

Besides the district establishment project, Binh Chanh is facing unprecedented strong development potential thanks to gathering a series of crucial transport infrastructures with a total investment capital estimated at 5 billion USD.

According to the preliminary assessment of the Department of Home Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Chanh currently has achieved 26/30 criteria to establish a district. It is expected that by 2025, Binh Chanh will meet all the requirements to be promoted to a district or city in Ho Chi Minh City, similar to the project of the Eastern city.

Considered as the gateway to 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta, Binh Chanh owns large industrial clusters and parks in Ho Chi Minh City with a large labor force. On the other hand, urbanization in this area is taking place rapidly when each year receives over 30,000 immigrants. The transport infrastructure network is complete with main axes connecting to the center.

The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just submitted a report to the People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City on investment policy in the construction and expansion project of Highway 50, Binh Chanh district. The National Highway 50 project is an essential external traffic route of Ho Chi Minh City connecting with the provinces of Long An and Tien Giang. At the same time, this is the path to the Da Phuoc Solid Waste Treatment Complex, so the traffic density is very high. The existing road being exploited has a narrow road surface. Vehicles participating in traffic such as trucks, garbage trucks, and containers mix with motorcycles and rudimentary cars, so the route is often jammed, especially at the intersection of National Highway 50 – Nguyen Van Linh Street risk of traffic accidents is very high.

The investment in the construction and expansion of National Highway 50, Binh Chanh district contributes to improving the trunk road’s capacity to connect the city with Long An province and the western provinces. It strengthens the connection for Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway, main routes, belts, and contact with Long Thanh airport after completion and put into operation. They will promote the efficiency of projects in the area. The area has been implementing construction investment, contributing to solving traffic jams at the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City center.
