Dong Nai: GRDP growth in 2021 will reach 2.15%

Despite being one of the four southern localities most affected by the Covid-19 epidemic (along with Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Long An), Dong Nai’s GRDP growth in 2021 will reach 2.15 %. Budget revenue exceeded the target.

The Dong Nai Statistics Department has just released a report on the socio-economic situation of Dong Nai province in 2021 with an estimate of more than 214.3 trillion VND, an increase of 2.15% compared to 2020.

The agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors increased by 3.01%; industry construction increased by 3.21%; services decreased by 1.6%, and product tax increased by 4.11%. This is the year with the lowest increase compared to previous years. However, in the context that the Covid-19 pandemic has seriously affected all aspects of the economy and society, achieving such growth is considered a success of Dong Nai in realizing the dual goals. “both disease prevention and economic development.”

In the field of industrial production, due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, a series of businesses stopped production and trade, leading to the disruption of the supply chain of raw materials, products, unemployed workers, inventory…

Regarding import and export of goods, in 2021, export turnover will reach more than 21.8 billion USD, up 16.16% over the same period. The state economy reached 511.3 million USD, up 12.2%; non-state economy reached more than 4.2 billion USD, down 1.4%; FDI economy reached nearly 17.1 billion USD, up 21.67%. Import turnover is estimated at almost 18.7 billion USD, up 27.55% over the same period. The trade balance in 2021 will reach a trade surplus of 3,154 million USD. Dong Nai continues to be the nation’s trade surplus for the 9th consecutive year.

Regarding investment, in 2021 (as of December 20, 2021), Dong Nai has attracted more than 1.2 billion USD of foreign investment capital and more than 13.3 trillion USD of domestic investment capital.

Especially in terms of budget revenue, despite being heavily affected by the fourth wave of the Covid-19 outbreak and prolonged social distancing, Dong Nai achieved a high increase in budget revenue compared to previous years. As of December 19, 2021, state budget revenue in the area reached nearly 62.37 trillion VND, reaching 132% of the estimate at the beginning of the year and increasing by 12% compared to 2020. Total local budget expenditure is more than 22.7 trillion dongs, reaching 97% of the estimate, up 4% over the same period.

The state budget revenue in 2021 is higher than the estimate because in 2021, according to the Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Cao Tien Dung, Dong Nai province has unexpected revenues. The significant variable from real estate transfer activities is 8,400 billion VND. It collects from auction activities more than 2,500 billion VND. Some projects are more than 200 billion VND.

It is known that Dong Nai province has set a target of GRDP growth in 2022 from 5.5 – 6%. Budget collection plan 2022 plan, state budget revenue in 2022 is about VND 55,241 billion; domestic revenue is more than 38.74 trillion dongs, import-export revenue is 16.5 trillion dongs.
