Hai Duong launches a road project of nearly 1,500 billion VND

The East-West route of Kim Thanh district is considered the major road, enforcing socio-economic development for the district as well as the whole province.

On July 27, Kim Thanh District People’s Committee held the ground-breaking ceremony of the East-West road project in Kim Thanh district (phase 1).

The route has a total length of about 14.72 km, with the starting point of the bridge calculated from Km0, at the intersection with the North-South axis of Hai Duong province, located within Co Dung commune, and ending at Km14+720 located in the region of Tam Ky commune.

The road is newly built with four lanes for motor vehicles, two lanes for rudimentary ones, the scale of a plain grade-II road (the roadbed with 24m in width), and the design speed of 80 km/h. The project has a total investment of 1,497 billion VND, and is divided into 3 phases.

In phase 1, this 3.68 km long traffic work is constructed with the scale of a grade III road and total investment of 232.4 billion VND, allocated according to district’s budget. Completion time is in 2022 – 2023.

In phase 2, it will be invested from Ngu Phuc – Tam Ky intersection, with a total investment of 347.35 billion VND, 7.72 km in length and completion time is 2023 – 2024.

In phase 3, it will be invested from North-South trunk road in Hai Duong province to the intersection with the connecting branch of the National Highway 5A intersection, with a total length of 4.25 km and total investment of VND 222 billion, completed in 2024 – 2025.

From 2025 onwards, it will be continuouly invested in the East-West trunk road and the connecting branch with the National Highway 5A intersection with the total investment capital of 694.46 billion VND.

When completed, the East-West road is considered to be the main route, connecting the adjacent regions and creating a driving force to promote socio-economic development for the district and the province.

According to Mr. Pham Quang Hung, Chairman of Kim Thanh District People’s Committee, the route will connect with the North-South axis of Hai Duong province and expand to the South. The East-West traffic route will gradually replace the National Highway 17B going through Kim Thanh district, and at the same time connected to large industrial parks of Trang Due and An Duong of Hai Phong city.

In addition, the road will connect with the QL5 interchange project in Kim Xuyen commune, which is expected to commence in early 2023 with a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Pham Xuan Thang, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Kim Thanh district over the past time. He also asked the departments to ease and support the district on investment procedures and the Provincial People’s Committee to help Kim Thanh district as much as possible in project implementation to ensure progress and be well-prepared for implementing the second critical project of this term.

In addition, it is suggested that the contractor needs to gather all resources, overcome difficulties, and coordinate with the investor to accelerate the construction progress to complete the work as scheduled with the highest quality so as to put the work into use as soon as possible.
