Ho Chi Minh City: Ensure investment and implementation of the Ring Road 4 project following regulations

The Government Office has just issued Document No. 6607/VPCP-CN conveying the opinions of Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh assigning localities to be competent agencies to implement the Ring Road 4 project, Ho Chi Minh City.

In the document, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh gave opinions on the proposal of the Ministry of Transport and the views of the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Finance, Justice, and Construction on the assignment of localities as competent agencies to implement the Ring Road 4 project, TP. Ho Chi Minh

Accordingly, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh requested the Ministry of Transport based on Resolution No. 29/2021/QH15 of the National Assembly and opinions of the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Finance, Justice, and Construction to assume the prime responsibility for and coordinate with relevant localities, research and propose appropriate investment plans, ensure feasibility, and comply with the provisions of law.

Ring road 4, Ho Chi Minh City is one of the urban highway belts, connecting provinces in the southern keyeconomic region, linking, effectively promoting highways and radial national highways, contributing to reducing traffic congestion in the Ho Chi Minh inner city area and promote regional economic development.

Currently, the implementation is very slow, not commensurate with the potential and strengths of the localities, especially Ho Chi Minh city. Previously, the Government has assigned the Ministry of Transport to coordinate the implementation of projects on the entire Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City; strive to complete the route in the period of 2021-2025.

According to Decision 1698/QD-TTG dated September 28, 2011 of the Prime Minister approving the detailed planning of Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, this route passes through the administrative boundaries of 12 districts in 5 provinces and cities: Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province (Tan Thanh district); Dong Nai province (3 districts: Long Thanh, Trang Bom, Vinh Cuu); Binh Duong province (2 districts: Tan Uyen, Ben Cat); Ho Chi Minh City (2 districts: Cu Chi, Nha Be); Long An province (4 districts: Duc Hoa, Ben Luc, Can Duoc, Can Giuoc).
