More than 13,600 newly established businesses and returned to operation in July
In July, the country had 13,687 newly established enterprises and returned to operation. Nearly 10,000 enterprises temporarily suspended their business.
According to the General Statistics Office, implementing social distancing in 20 provinces and centrally-run cities according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTG has affected business activities in July and the first seven months of 2021.

Generally, in the first seven months of 2021, the country has 75.8 thousand newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of 1065.4 trillion VND and a full recorded labor force of 555.5 thousand employees.
The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in 7 months is 14.1 billion VND including 1,366.7 trillion VND of additionally registered capital of nearly 27.6 thousand enterprises changing and increasing wealth, the total capital additional registration to the economy in the first seven months of the year was 2,432.1 trillion VND, up 16.1% over the same period in 2020.
In addition, in July, 4,527 enterprises registered to suspend their business for a definite time, 3,932 enterprises stopped operating pending dissolution procedures, and 1,442 enterprises completed dissolution procedures.
In July, the social distancing according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTG and some localities complying with Directive No. 15/CT-TTG affected domestic and foreign investment capital sources. In July, realized investment capital from the State budget was estimated at VND 38.3 trillion, down 12.4% over the same period last year. Generally, in the first seven months of 2021, investment capital realized from the State budget reached 210.8 trillion VND, equaling 44.3% of the year plan and increasing by 5.6% over the same period last year.
In general, in the first seven months of 2021, the Covid-19 epidemic with a new strain has complicated developments, negatively affecting industrial production in July and seven months of this year. The industrial production index in July 2021 only increased by 1.8% compared to the previous month and increased by 2.2% over the same period last year, which is the lowest increase in the past seven months (except for February with the number of the least working days). In general, for the first seven months of 2021, the industrial production index increased by 7.9% compared to the first seven months of 2020.
