Southern provinces of Vietnam ensure production safety for businesses

In the face of complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic, crowded areas such as apartments, supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City are still taking severe and drastic measures to prevent and control the outbreak.

The Special Standing Department under Ministry of Health to support Ho Chi Minh City against the Covid-19 epidemic has just organized a training session for 20 southern provinces and cities (from Ninh Thuan onwards) to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic. In industrial parks and production facilities, they are ensuring both anti-epidemic and production safety. Nguyen Truong Son, Deputy Minister of Health, said that the 4th wave of the Covid-19 epidemic is complicated in the Southern region (HCMC) and Binh Duong province. In addition, some southwestern areas and central sections also began to appear new cases.

At the same time, they are recommending and mobilizing enterprises in export processing zones and industrial parks with large labor scales to equip face recognition devices and heat detectors to contribute to good screening and prevention COVID-19 pandemic. Export processing zones, industrial parks, high-tech parks, factories and enterprises need to comply with the 5K requirement for individuals strictly. Along with that, regularly check, evaluate and update the COVID safety map.

Set up Temporary Isolation Rooms to respond to the situation where a suspected case of COVID-19 occurs. According to regulations, all officials, employees and workers in export processing zones and industrial zones must make medical declarations and travel schedules. Owners of enterprises, factories, and enterprises are responsible for managing employee information of their units, ensuring adequate information is provided to relevant agencies to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic when there is a problem request.

Currently, the most crucial goal is to ensure production safety. Therefore, businesses need to implement a safety chain from accommodation “transport workers” to a safe production environment. It is possible to arrange 20-30% of workers in concentrated accommodation areas who have thoroughly mastered anti-epidemic measures. With this strictly protected workforce, localities will continue to maintain production in a safe and secure situation.

Based on experience from epidemic prevention in industrial zones in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh, the Ministry of Health conducted training for Southern provinces to inspect and assess safety levels in production facilities. In addition, the Government has taken preventive measures to help businesses prevent the virus at work to ensure a safe working environment, increase labor productivity, safe production, and business, and maintain jobs and incomes.
